Man I love your band...

A cracking night at the o2 Ritz in Manchester.

It was a gig I'd had booked in for some time and it was definitely worth the wait!

Sheffield band Little Man Tate flew back onto the scene last year, supporting the Enemy and popping up at a few festivals this summer, with fans relieving some of their classic tunes.

But not only that, it was also the day they released their second single 'Cheap Stolen Kisses' off their new album.

I caught up with front man Jon and guitarist Maz ahead of the gig to discuss their new releases and tour, which you can listen to below:

Their new album 'Welcome To The Rest Of Your Life' is out on the 17th November 2023.

'Undercover Lovers' and 'Cheap Stolen Kisses' have already been released as singles and are available to stream and download.

You can pre-order the album on Vinyl, CD, Cassette as well as other merch below:

Had what I consider a golden opportunity to meet the guys and get to know them over a couple of beers, and what absolutely lovely guys they are.

Big shout out to Jon, who let me take photos even though he hadn't done his hair, ha!

I can confirm however, his hair was done by the time they reached the stage.

Onto the gig then.

Manchester legend and DJ Dave Sweetmore got the crowd pumped, playing some Manchester anthems such as 'Don't Look Back in Anger' by Oasis, 'Not Nineteen Forever' by Courteeners and more.

Another side note, Dave is also bloody lovely.

The crowd were pumped and the lads' made their appearance, opening with 'Man I hate your band' and my personal favourite 'European Lover', which was very well received.

Addressing the crowd with 'Manchester La la la' - everyone was READY.

'Manchester is our second home' and it was quite evident why - the crowd were singing along, jumping around and generally having the time of their lives and it wasn't hard to understand why.

I speak to many people who aren't keen on live music, because they say it "doesn't sound the same" as on records - but I can vouch that Little Man Tate are bang on, if not better live - so should you get the opportunity to see them, do it, you won't be disappointed.

Their new singles also seemed to go down well, the crowd picked up the lyrics quickly or already knew the words and you could hear people singing along to every song on the set list.

They of course had to go out with a bang, and probably their biggest hits 'Sexy in Latin' and 'House Party at Boothys' got everybody up and going, with Jon himself even getting down to the crowd for the last song:

He knows how to work a crowd and it's evident here that they absolutely love them.

If you fancy seeing what it's all about (and I highly suggest that you do!) then they still have some dates available, and did tease some more potential dates in future:

Please note - the Sheffield date has been moved due to unforeseen circumstances.

If you want to buy tickets you can do so here:

Only other thing to say is, it's up there with one of my gigs of the year.

Hope to catch up with the guys again soon.
