I imagine if you're here you probably know me already, but if you don't, Hi! I'm Hayley, the one on the right in the photo above!
At the time of writing, I'm a freelance Broadcast Journalist and Producer as well as Events Manager; that's the official stuff anyway, I can't quite add professional gig-goer, playlist queen and bad joke official to my CV.. (or can I?) - but either way, I'm here.
I've spent most of my life listening to music and dreaming of a career in such industry, not singing mind, I don't think I want to inflict that on too many... unless you're in the same karaoke bar as me, that's on you.
(accurate scenes, minus the cigarette)
But behind the scenes, or mic even, In January 2016, I got my first radio show at a small community station in Sheffield (big up Redroad FM) and I've not looked back.
Since then, whilst job-hopping in Customer Service and Sales jobs, I took a leap and went back and did my masters degree in Multimedia Journalism at Manchester Metropolitan University... in the middle of a pandemic - which trust me, had it's challenges but it gave me the boost I needed.
Fast forward 3 years after starting my masters - I'm now full time freelance (for now anyway!) for BBC Local Radio and BBC Sport, having worked for BBC Radio Sheffield, Leeds, York, Humberside, Tees, Manchester and Lincolnshire as well as BBC 5 Live.
It's not been without it's challenges - but it's given me so many opportunities I couldn't have dreamed of as a kid (younger me would laugh if you told her what I'm doing now!).
But here I am and I want to build my platform and share what I'm doing, whether it's with work or my personal life and I hope you come with me as I carry on.
If you've got this far, cheers! you honestly don't know how much I appreciate it.
And if you have, just know you're making me (and my younger self!) very happy - let's go!

Circa: 1995 - clearly my path was set early.
